This guide covers storage, usage, and troubleshooting for our RNase Inhibitor — everything you need for reliable RNase protection across RNA workflows.
Storage: Store at –20°C in the supplied buffer (20 mM HEPES, 50 mM KCl, 8 mM DTT, 50% glycerol, pH 7.6). Supplied at 40 U/µL. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
Usage: Add 1–2 U per 1 µL of reaction mixture, before or alongside any RNase-prone components. Optimal activity at 37°C; a minimum of 1 mM DTT is required to keep the enzyme active. To inactivate, heat to 65°C for 20 minutes.
Troubleshooting: The full guide includes fixes for six common issues: RNA degradation, low RNA yield in IVT or cDNA synthesis, inconsistent cDNA synthesis, ineffective inhibitor activity, residual RNase activity in purified RNA, and inhibitor overuse.
